ATLAS to present new results at Moriond
[Feb 2014]

Toward the end of this year, the Long Shutdown, which began in early 2013, will conclude. There has been a lot of activity in the upgrade of the LHC, its detectors and software systems. There has also been a tremendous amount of work in the physics analyses. ATLAS collaborators and other scientists will be presenting these new findings at the two weeks of the Rencontres de Moriond conferences, which starts on 15 March, at La Thuile in Italy.

Five Outstanding Students Win ATLAS Thesis Awards
[Feb 2014]

The ATLAS Thesis Awards recognize some of our postdoctoral colleagues who have made exceptional contributions to the experiment, across all areas, in the context of a PhD thesis. At a ceremony held during the ATLAS Collaboration Week in February John Alison, Julien Maurer, Teng-Jian Khoo, Kristof Schmieden, and Christopher Meyer were each presented with a certificate and a glass model of the ATLAS detector from spokesperson Dave Charlton and Thesis Committee Chair Craig Buttar to mark their work.
