New Results for EPS

16 July 2013

ATLAS physicists will be presenting new results at the biennial Europhysics conference on High Energy Physics this year. The conference, which will take place 18 to 24 July in Stockholm, Sweden, is organized by the High Energy and Particle Physics Division of the European Physical Society (EPS). A variety of new ATLAS results will be presented, including studies in B physics, precision measurements of the Top quark, searches for Supersymmetry and other Exotic physics models, as well as refined measurements of the properties of the Higgs boson, with many results now based on the full 2012 data set.

The High Energy and Particle Physics Prize for outstanding contributions to the field, which was announced in May, will be awarded to the ATLAS and CMS collaborations "for the discovery of a Higgs boson, as predicted by the Brout-Englert-Higgs mechanism", and to Peter Jenni of ATLAS, and Michel Della Negra and Tejinder Virdee of CMS, "for their pioneering and outstanding leadership roles in the making of the ATLAS and CMS experiments."

EPS-HEP is one of the major international conferences in the field of high energy physics, with more than 600 participants.
